Backup Data Encryption

When business-critical data is vulnerable, the consequences are devastating. Frequent data breaches and attacks by hackers are alerting the organizations to adopt the best ways to safeguard their business-critical data against the threats and hackers.

BDRSuite’s backup-level encryption feature allows you to protect your backed up data with custom passwords or system generated passwords. This improved security feature will allow only the authorized person to access the backed up data while access to others will be denied and it is necessary to enter the appropriate password while restoring the backups.

How it works

BDRSuite encrypts and protects the data using the highly secured AES 256 bit algorithm during the transit and at the backup repository. When configuring backup, you can choose to encrypt your data using System Generated Password (or) Custom Password.

You can encrypt all your backup data using BDRSuite’s automatic System Generated Encryption Key. You do not need to specify any during the recovery or while editing/deleting the backup job later.

You need to create a password to encrypt the job and the data associated with it. An encryption password can be added along with its hints.

Once a password is set for a particular backup job and is saved, the job and all the data you backed up will be secured and cannot be accessed without the set password. The backed up data will remain encrypted and cannot be accessed for recovery (or) deletion unless the password is entered.

Both the full and the incremental data of backups will be encrypted with AES-256 bit encryption algorithm. When recovery is initiated, the appropriate password of the respective backup job should be entered to proceed with the recovery.
