Sekar is a serial entrepreneur with over 14 years of experience in the IT industry. He was a co-founder and a Business Unit head for AdventNet (now called Zoho), a leading player in the network management domain and now more known for their cloud based productivity suite of products. He had helped bootstrap AdventNet to a 300 people organization without raising any external funding. In 2004, Sekar founded Vembu Technologies, a software company focused in the online data protection domain, and has since grown it into a profitable organization with over hundred employees.
Sekar holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a masters degree in Operations Research – both from IIT-Madras.
Jay has been with Vembu Technologies since 2005 and is intimately familiar with the inner workings of StoreGrid. Prior to joining Vembu, Jay was with Adventnet where he worked on various products and diverse technologies in the 'Network Management' domain. Currently, Jay leads the R&D team at Vembu Tech that's working on the 'next generation' of StoreGrid & related storage solutions.
Jay completed his Engineering from Madras University with a specialization in Electronics & Communication Engineering.
Sathish Joined Vembu Technologies in 2007 after working for large corporate giants like Nortel and Verizon. Prior to joining Vembu, he was with Verizon Data Services both in India and in the USA, wherein he'd worked primarily on Speech Recognition based applications for the Telecom Industry and on varied applications for handheld wireless devices.
Sathish completed his Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering from IIT, Madras and thereafter obtained his Masters degree in Petroleum Engineering (yes, Petroleum) from The University of Texas, Austin. He went on to complete a second Masters in Computer Engineering with a specialization in Distributed Systems.
Prior to joining Vembu, Kumar had over 15 years of experience in the IT industry – across verticals like Banking, Insurance, Telecom, Manufacturing and Utilities. He’d worked at several Fortune 500 companies like JPMorgan Chase, Allstate Insurance, MCI WorldCom, AT & T and Wisconsin Energy. In his last role, he was an Enterprise Architect at JP Morgan Chase where he helped architect and integrate web based applications for the Treasury & Security Services division. Kumar is passionate about consumer technologies and founded several consumer oriented websites including a Social Network for Physicians and an Indian languages search engine that searches and indexes Indian language websites that are based on custom fonts as well as unicode.
Kumar has a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT-Madras and a Masters degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering from University of Illinois.
